Content Warnings

  • Nudity/Sexual Content (1)
    • The Parks grope and rub each other sexually from 1:28:40 to 1:30:32.
  • Blood (7)
    • At 1:07:22, Moon-Gwang is shown bleeding slightly from her lip and head from falling. 
    • Guen-Se’s face is very bloody at 1:38:08 and 1:51:06.
    • Blood is shown consistently from 1:51:50-1:56:09.
    • A large amount of blood seeps out of Ki-Woo’s head as he lies unconscious on the floor at 1:51:55-1:52:20.
    • Ki-Jung is stabbed at 1:53:10 and blood spreads rapidly across her chest.
    • Guen-Se’s dead body is seen at 2:01:00 with the skewer still in his side and bloodied.
    • The camera focuses on Ki-Taek’s bloody hands, and he is shown with them as he runs to the basement of the house from 2:01:1 to 2:02:12.
  • Graphic Violence (5)
    • 1:18:26, Moon-Gwang is shoved down the basement stairs, cracking her head on the concrete. The blood is then seen at 1:23:54 on Ki-Taek’s hands when he checks her head.
    • Guen-Se bangs his head repeatedly on a light switch, causing heavy bleeding down his face at 1:38:08.
    • Guen-Se throws a large stone at the already unconscious Ki-Woo’s head at1:52:08. His body convulses, but no new wound is readily visible. 
    • 1:53:10, Ki Jung is stabbed in the chest by Guen-Se and faints instantly.
    • A fight breaks out as Guen-Se proceeds to stab, threaten party guests, and fight the Kim’s 1:53:24-1:56:09
      • Guen-Se is stabbed in the side at 1:54:33.
      • Dong-Ik is stabbed in the chest at 1:55:11. 

Trigger Warnings

  • Domestic/Child Abuse (2)
    • Ki-Woo, a college-aged English tutor, kisses his student, a high school sophomore, from 25:00 to 25:13. They then begin a relationship. They are seen making out at 1:45:27.
    • 1:02:22- While drunk and being made fun of by his wife, Ki-Taek violently shoves aside glasses on the table and grabs her shirt. They then laugh about it, saying it was a joke.
  • Drug/Alcohol Abuse (1)
    • The Kim family get drunk together on whiskey while discussing their employers and their plans from 56:40 to 1:02:54
  • Animal Abuse (1)
    • Chung-Sook shoves a dog away, causing him to whine at 59:31.
  • Self-Harm/Suicide (1)
    • Guen-Se bangs his head repeatedly on a light switch, causing heavy bleeding down his face at 1:38:08.
  • Slurs (1)
    • References to “American Indians” and portrayals of Native stereotypes and costumes are used throughout the movie. These references are used as a way to highlight the Park families’ ignorance.
